Tell NOAA Fisheries to support a ban on retention of vulnerable shortfin mako sharks

Shortfin mako sharks are one of the most impressive fish in the sea: They can swim at speeds as high as 45 mph and can reportedly jump up to 20 feet out of the water.

However, with their numbers plummeting, even makos may not be able to outrun extinction. Your voice is critical to securing the international protection they need!

Shortfin makos are severely threatened by overfishing. A regional ban on retaining these makos could help protect them from extinction, but the U.S. has refused to support a ban until now.

We need your help to save these sharks: Add your signature to urge NOAA Fisheries to listen to the science and support a retention ban at the upcoming ICCAT meeting!
